U.S. Bank Business Checking $900 Signup Bonus – Step By Step Guide

U.S. Bank is currently offering new business customers up to a $900 signup bonus after opening a new account and meeting certain requirements. There are two bonus offers available depending on how much you can deposit into your account. Here’s what you need to do to earn your U.S. Bank Business Checking Bank signup bonus:

  1. Open a U.S. Bank Silver Business Checking Account online with promo code Q4AFL24  by January 15, 2025, using this link.
  2. To earn a $400 bonus: Make a deposit of at least $5,000 within 30 days of account opening and maintain the daily balance until the 60th day after account opening. For the $900 bonus, make a deposit of at least $30,00 within 30 days of account opening and maintain the daily balance until the 60th day after account opening. Note that you can only earn one of these bonuses (i.e. you can either earn the $400 bonus or the $900 bonus depending on how much you deposit into your account).

This is a fairly easy bank bonus to earn, especially because the U.S. Bank Silver Business Checking Account comes with no monthly fees or minimum balance requirements. The only requirement is that you need to have a business to be eligible for this account. However, any business, including a sole proprietorship, is eligible.

With that said, in this post, we’ll go through the step-by-step directions you can follow to earn your U.S. Bank Business Checking Account signup bonus.

U.S. Bank Business Checking $400/$900 Signup Bonus – Step-By-Step Directions

Here are the step-by-step directions to earn your $400 or $900 U.S. Bank Business Checking signup bonus:

  1. Open A U.S. Bank Silver Business Checking Account By 1/15/2025. You’ll first need to open a U.S. Bank Business Checking Account using a signup bonus link. Here’s a link you can use with the promo code Q4AFL24 that will qualify you for the signup bonus (be sure that the promo code is in the application when you apply).

When you go to open your account, you’ll notice three account options –  Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Unless you have a particular reason to open the other options, I recommend opening the Silver Business Checking Account because it has no fees to worry about. That’ll make things easier to manage.

Note that this signup bonus is scheduled to end on 1/15/2025, so make sure to open your account before that date. These bonuses can always end at the discretion of the bank, so it’s best to open your account as soon as you’re able to do so, just in case the offer gets pulled early.

  1. To Earn Your $400 or $900 Bonus, Complete A Deposit Of At Least $5,000 or $30,000 Within 30 days Of Account Opening. Once you’ve opened your account using the signup bonus link and the promo code, your next step is to deposit money into your account. To earn the $400 bonus, deposit $5,000 within 30 days of account opening and maintain the daily balance until the 60th day after account opening. To earn a $900 bonus, make a deposit of at least $30,000 within 30 days of account opening and maintain the daily balance until the 60th day after account opening.

To be clear, you can earn either the $400 bonus or the $900 bonus depending on how much you deposit into the account. If you can, I recommend depositing $30,000 to get the $900 bonus, but if you can’t do that, the $400 bonus is also good.

What makes this bonus particularly good is that, unlike many other bank bonuses, this one doesn’t require a direct deposit. Instead, you only need to deposit $5,000 or $30,000 (depending on which bonus you go for) into your checking account within 30 days and keep it in the account for 60 days. This is good because you won’t have to change direct deposits from your work or figure out other ways to meet a direct deposit requirement.

The easiest way to meet this requirement is to fund your account with the $5,000 or $30,000 when you open your account. Otherwise, you can also link an external account and move the money into your U.S. Bank Business Checking Account later (just make sure to do it within 30 days of account opening).

Remember, there are no monthly fees to worry about with the Silver Business Checking Account, so this is an easy account to manage.

Other Important Things To Know About This Bonus

There are a few minor notes that are worth knowing. First, U.S. Bank makes clear that the funds need to come from outside of a U.S. Bank account. That means you’ll want to make sure to deposit money from an account that is not affiliated with U.S. Bank.

Second, the terms state that this offer is not valid for anyone who has an existing U.S. Bank Business Checking Account or has had a U.S. Bank Business checking account in the last 24 months. That means if you’ve had a U.S. Bank business checking account that was open in the last 2 years, you won’t be eligible and will need to wait until after 24 months have passed.

Finally, it’s important to note that if you have a U.S. Bank Personal Checking Account or other U.S. Bank products, those do not prevent you from earning this bonus. U.S. Bank treats personal accounts separately from business accounts, so even if you currently have a U.S. Bank Personal Checking Account, you’ll still be eligible for this bonus since it’s for a Business Checking Account.

What To Do With Your U.S. Bank Account After Earning Your Bonus

One question many people have is what to do with the checking account after earning the bonus. If the bank account works for you, then it’s fine to use it. This is especially the case with the U.S. Bank Silver Business Checking Account since it has no fees to worry about.

Some banks do require you to keep a new account open for a certain amount of time to keep the bonus (or they’ll charge an early termination fee). U.S. Bank doesn’t charge any fees, so in theory, you can close your account immediately after earning your bonus, if you want. I don’t recommend doing that because ideally, you want to look like a good customer.

Final Thoughts

U.S. Bank (member FDIC) is a traditional brick-and-mortar bank that regularly offers a signup bonus for new customers – for both their personal and business checking accounts. The good thing is that the Silver Business Checking account from U.S. Bank comes with no monthly fees or minimum balance requirements, which makes it an easy bank account to manage. Remember that sole proprietors and independent contractors are businesses and are eligible for this account. Even if you simply have an idea for a business, that would make you eligible to open this account.

Bank account bonuses are a great way to generate some extra income and if you’re in a position to do so, you should take advantage of them. For more information, I highly recommend reading my Ultimate Guide to Bank Account Bonuses, which is a great resource that will walk you through the major things you should know about bank account bonuses.

If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments below. Hope this information helps!

More Recommended Ebike/Scooters

Check out these other ebikes and scooters I've reviewed:

  • Urban Arrow Ebike – Last year, I made one of the largest purchases I’ve ever made – I bought a $9,000 electric cargo bike from Urban Arrow. In my Urban Arrow review, I will discuss what it is and why I decided to buy this bike, as well as discuss how impactful a bike like this can be on your journey to financial independence.
  • Troxus Explorer Step-Thru Ebike – The Troxus Explorer Step-Thru is a fat-tire ebike that I’ve had the pleasure of riding for a while now. It has amazing power, great looks, and awesome range. If you’re looking for a great fat-tire ebike that offers a lot for the price, the Troxus Explorer Step-Thru is definitely one for you to consider. Check out my Troxus Explorer Step-Thru Review.
  • Hovsco HovBeta Ebike – The HovBeta is a folding ebike with great specs and a lot of interesting features, and importantly, it’s sold at a good price point. I’ve had a blast commuting with it and using it to do deliveries with DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub. Check out my Hovsco HovBeta Ebike Review.
  • Vanpowers Manidae Ebike – The Vanpowers Manidae is a fat tire ebike that I’ve been riding as my primary winter commuting bike and have also been using it to do food delivery with apps like DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub. After clocking in a decent number of miles with this ebike, I wanted to write a post sharing what my experience with the Vanpowers Manidae ebike has been like. Check out my Vanpowers Manidae Review.
  • Sohamo S3 Step-Thru Folding EBike Review – A Great Value Folding Ebike – The Sohamo S3 Step-Thru Folding Ebike is an entry-level folding ebike that offers a lot of value for the price point. I’ve been riding the Sohamo S3 for a while now, putting the bike through its paces, and I have to say, this bike has exceeded all of my expectations. Check out my Sohamo Review.
  • KBO Flip Ebike – The KBO Flip is an excellent bike. I’ve had a great time riding it and think it’s a versatile bike that can be used for a lot of purposes and can fit a variety of lifestyles. It’s worked out great for me as a general commuter bike and as a food delivery bike. Check out my KBO Flip Review.
  • Hiboy P7 Commuter Ebike – The Hiboy P7 is an excellent electric commuter bike that’s offered at an affordable price point. The range and speed of this bike are both very good, so you won’t have any trouble getting anywhere you need to go with it. As a food delivery vehicle, this is also good – with how much range it offers, you’ll be able to work all day on a single charge. Check out my Hiboy P7 Commuter Electric Bike Review.
  • Himiway Escape Ebike – The Himiway Escape is an interesting bike for anyone looking for a moped-style ebike. If you’re a gig economy worker, the Himiway Escape is particularly interesting and it’s possible to think of it as an investment, especially if you can opt to do deliveries with the Himiway versus using a car. It’s not cheap, but you can definitely make your money back when you compare the mileage you’ll put on your car versus using an ebike. Check out my Himiway Escape Bike Review.
  • Espin Sport Ebike – The Espin Sport is a good ebike for someone who is looking for an ebike that feels and rides more like a regular bike. There are many ebikes that are really only bikes in name. In reality, they’re basically electric mopeds. The Espin Sport, by contrast, is a bike you could probably ride without the battery and you’d feel like you’re just riding a regular bike. Check out my Espin Sport Review.
  • Varla Eagle One Scooter – The Varla Eagle One is an excellent scooter that can make sense for a lot of people. It can work as a primary mode of transportation. You can use it to work on gig economy apps like DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub. And it can also be a recreational vehicle if you’d prefer to use it for that. Check out my Varla Eagle One Review.
  • Varla Falcon Scooter – The Varla Falcon is an excellent scooter that offers a good amount of power at a lower price point compared to more powerful scooters. It’s not exactly an entry-level scooter, nor is it a high-powered scooter. I think it fits somewhere in-between those two categories – an intermediate scooter if I had to give it a category. Check out my Varla Falcon Review.
  • Hiboy S2 Scooter – The Hiboy S2 is an excellent entry-level commuter scooter that's perfect for someone looking to save some money in transportation costs and improve their commute. Check out my Hiboy S2 Review.
  • Hiboy S2R Scooter – The Hiboy S2R is one of the more interesting electric scooters I’ve been able to test out. It’s not a high-powered scooter, but for an everyday transport option, it’s very useful, especially given some of the unique features that it has. Indeed, for the price, the Hiboy S2R might be the best value scooter I’ve used. Check out my Hiboy S2R Review.
  • Fucare H3 Scooter – The Fucare H3 is a fun scooter and I’ve enjoyed testing it out. For a daily commuter or quick trips or errands, the Fucare H3 is probably the scooter I’ll use. It’s portable and easy to maneuver, so it’s just easier to take on the road when I need it. Check out my Fucare H3 Scooter Review.

Wanted to share my US Bank experience as they have been the most frustrating bank to work with in all the banks I’ve ever encountered. Cumbersome, inefficient, and not user-friendly.

I signed up for the recent Business Silver Checking account to receive the bonus attached to depositing $5,000. I checked my budget software last week to discover there was a $6 fee charge on the account. It took WAY more effort that it should have to figure out what the fee was for. Come to find out, I was charged $6 for paper statements. I have NEVER been charged for paper statements from a bank. Furthermore, I always sign up for estatements as I dislike the clutter of receiving paper for any sort of statement. The fact that I was charged a fee for a default setting, and not one that I recall being warned about during the setup process, is WILD. I’m reaching out to their support team on ‘X’ but all signs point to because of this $6 fee dropping my account below the minimum I’m supposed to have to achieve the bonus, I’m going to miss out on the $400.

I’ll update when I find out more but lessons for anyone else who tries this bonus: 1) Immediately sign-up for estatements instead of paper statements 2) Put a little more than the minimum in your account just in case some random fee hits your account. I try to read all the fine print but sometimes these banks get you in the weirdest ways.

I opened an account by the previous deadline of March 31, put in the $3k and even more but didn’t get the bonus after 4 mos. Called and they said I didn’t also create a business profile either online or with the ap and it was too late to do that (had to be done in 60 days), oh well guess I will close the account. Appreciate your tips.

Have you ever earned money doing anything outside of a W2 job? Selling things online?

Do you have an idea for a business? If so, you have a business.

In today’s world, I think it’s very rare for someone to literally have no business or idea for a business.

Hello Kevin – thanks for the email you sent out on Saturday morning (4/22/2023) with the reminder about the $500 bonus for US Bank! I had not seen this previously so I signed up right away, and ended up having to email a PDF funding request as US Bank wouldn’t recognize my bank information (I tried with two different banks). The funding request was sent by email on Sunday, 4/23.

FWIW, the offer changed yesterday (Monday 4/24). There’s a new code now: Q2AFL23 and the offer has changed slightly. You can still earn $500 but you have to deposit $5000, and you can also earn $750 by depositing $15,000.

I decided to call this morning to check on the status and was dismayed to hear from representative Vicky that since the 23rd fell on the weekend even though I received an email on 4/22 entitled “Application approved! Your new account details are inside” INCLUDING the last four digits of my account, that the checking account was not officially “open” until yesterday, 4/24! Vicky stated at that point that I could stop the process and retract the funding deposit if I wished… but since I really would rather earn that $500 bonus tying up $3000 (vs the new terms requiring $5000) I asked if there was anyone else I could speak with to resolve this issue.

She investigated a bit more on the code I used [Q1AFL23], and sent a direct message to the account manager who said he would investigate and get back to me.

Personally, I believe since I received the email with last four of my new account, PLUS I have a screenshot of the message that stated “We’re having trouble adding money to your account” that my account WAS open before the deadline, in spite of the “official” opening date.

I will report back when I know more. Thanks again!

I’m back to report that I did get the $500 bonus (from the offer back in April), it landed in my account on July 20th. I called US Bank 65 days after I had opened the account to check in with them and they said it would take another 2-3 weeks to review my account to see if I met with the terms. I’m glad I stuck with it, instead of retracting my deposit as Vicky had suggested! But it did take almost three months to get the bonus. Thanks again Kevin for telling us about these opportunities. Best, Mrs. A

The link you provided shows an expiration date of 03/31/2023. Is there actually a bonus with a 04/23/2023 expiration?
