Yieldstreet $100 Referral Bonus – Step By Step Guide

*It looks like the refer a friend program is gone at the moment. I am not sure if/when it will return but I’ll update this post again if it does comes back.

Yieldstreet is a free investing app that allows users to invest in alternative asset classes. They’re on a push to get new users, so right now they are offering a $100 bonus for each person you refer to Yieldstreet. The person you refer doesn’t have to do anything other than use your link and open a free Yieldstreet account. They don’t have to put any money into the account or do anything with it either for you to earn your bonus – all you have to do is refer them. That makes Yieldstreet worth opening solely to refer people. In this post, I’ll go over everything you need to know to earn your Yieldstreet referral bonus.

How To Earn Your Yieldstreet Referral Bonus

As mentioned, Yieldstreet has a referral program that allows current Yieldstreet users to refer other people. Each person you refer will earn you a $100 referral bonus.

To earn your Yieldstreet referral bonus, you have to do two things:

  1. Open a free Yieldstreet account. You can open this by downloading the Yieldstreet app or going to the Yieldstreet website. You don’t need to use a referral link to open your Yieldstreet account, but if you do feel like supporting this blog, you can use my Yieldstreet referral link and I will earn a bonus for referring you. Remember, there is no bonus for opening a Yieldstreet account. You can only earn bonuses once you have a Yieldstreet account and start referring people.
  2. Refer people using your Yieldstreet referral. Once you create a Yieldstreet account, you’ll be able to refer other people to Yieldstreet. You’ll receive $100 for each person that you refer. The terms state that you can earn up to $2,000 per quarter, which means you could theoretically refer 20 people every 3 months and earn up to $8,000 in a year. (Note: Yieldstreet recently added that you have to have your Yieldstreet account open for 30 days before you’re eligible to refer people, so wait 30 days before you refer anyone).
  3. You’ll earn your Yieldstreet referral bonus at the start of the next quarter. You’ll earn your $100 bonus at the start of the next quarter. Depending on when you refer your person, this can either be really quick or you’ll have to wait a bit.

What makes this referral so appealing is that the person you refer doesn’t have to do anything other than open a Yieldstreet account using your referral link. The referral terms specifically state the following:

There is no purchase or investment necessary by an Invitee in order for you to receive cash compensation. Note, however, that you accrue no additional benefit if an Invitee ultimately makes an investment on the website or takes any other actions.

To qualify for the $100 bonus, the person you refer has to do the following within 30 days of receiving their invite from you:

  1. Open a new Yieldstreet account using your referral link.
  2. Complete all identity verification requirements (this simply means confirming SSN, phone number, addresses, etc – essentially what you would have to do when opening any bank or investment account).
  3. Link an external bank account.

Yieldstreet doesn’t do a hard pull on your credit, so opening an account has no impact on your credit score or credit report. It should only take someone a few minutes to complete the signup process and link an external bank account.

The bonus will post in your Yieldstreet wallet at the start of the next quarter. So, if you refer someone in October, you’ll see your bonus in January.

Once you earn your $100 bonus for referring someone, you can either keep the money and invest it into something, or withdraw the money. I’ve opted to withdraw everything I earned from Yieldstreet.

Refer Your Friends And Family Members To Maximize Your Bonus

To refer someone, enter their email address in the “Invite a friend” section. You’ll find this button at the top right of the website. The person you refer will then get an email from Yieldstreet letting them know you referred them and giving them a link to use.

Each person you refer will earn you $100 if they create a Yieldstreet account and link an external bank account within 30 days.

Depending on how large your household is, you can earn a significant amount of money just by referring people you know. A two-person household can easily earn $100 with just a few minutes of work. If you have friends or family, you can easily refer them and offer to split the bonus with them. It’s super easy, so it’s worth taking advantage of it while you can. I can’t imagine this will last forever.

Final Thoughts

Yieldstreet is a referral bonus with easy terms – the person you refer only has to open an account and link an external bank account. At a minimum, it’s worth signing up just so you can refer a friend or family member. You might not be able to refer 20 people per quarter, but even just one or two referrals can add up to a few hundred dollars for you.

Remember, you don’t need to use my referral if you’re interested in this bonus. That being said, if the info I shared was helpful, it definitely helps me out if you use my Yieldstreet referral link.

More Recommended Ebike/Scooters

Check out these other ebikes/scooters I've had the chance to do a review for:

  • GEN3 Outcross Bike – The GEN3 Outcross is a solid, affordable fat tire ebike that does a good job of doing what I need it to do. It works great for city riding, giving me a smooth ride in all conditions. It’s works really well as a winter ebike since the fat tires give it good traction over snow and ice. Check out my GEN3 Outcross Review.
  • Himiway Escape Bike – The Himiway Escape is an interesting bike for anyone looking for a moped-style ebike. If you’re a gig economy worker, the Himiway Escape is particularly interesting and it’s possible to think of it as an investment, especially if you can opt to do deliveries with the Himiway versus using a car. It’s not cheap, but you can definitely make your money back when you compare the mileage you’ll put on your car versus using an ebike. Check out my Himiway Escape Bike Review.
  • Espin Sport Bike – The Espin Sport is a good ebike for someone who is looking for an ebike that feels and rides more like a regular bike. There are many ebikes that are really only bikes in name. In reality, they’re basically electric mopeds. The Espin Sport, by contrast, is a bike you could probably ride without the battery and you’d feel like you’re just riding a regular bike. Check out my Espin Sport Review.
  • Varla Eagle One Scooter – The Varla Eagle One is an excellent scooter that can make sense for a lot of people. It can work as a primary mode of transportation. You can use it to work on gig economy apps like DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub. And it can also be a recreational vehicle if you’d prefer to use it for that. Check out my Varla Eagle One Review.
  • Fucare H3 Scooter – The Fucare H3 is a fun scooter and I’ve enjoyed testing it out. For a daily commuter or quick trips or errands, the Fucare H3 is probably the scooter I’ll use. It’s portable and easy to maneuver, so it’s just easier to take on the road when I need it. Check out my Fucare H3 Scooter Review.

More Recommended Bank Account Bonuses

If you’re looking for more easy bank bonuses, check out the below options. These bonuses are all easy to earn and have no fees or minimum balance requirements to worry about.

  • GO2Bank ($100) - GO2Bank is an easy bank bonus that I recommend people take advantage of if they have an easy way of meeting the direct deposit requirement. I like that it’s easy to open the account and that the bonus pays out quickly. Check out my step-by-step guide on how to earn your GO2Bank $100 referral bonus.
  • Chime ($100) - Chime is a free bank account that offers a referral bonus if you use a referral link and complete a direct deposit of $200 or more. In practice, any ACH transfer into this account triggers the bonus. This bonus is easy to earn and posts instantly, so you’ll know if you met the requirements as soon as you move money into the account. I wrote a step-by-step guide on how to earn your Chime referral bonus that I recommend you check out.
  • US Bank Business ($750) – This is a fairly easy bank bonus to earn, since there are no direct deposit requirements. In addition, you can open the Silver Business Checking account, which comes with no monthly fees. Check out how to earn this big bonus here.
  • SoFi Money ($275) – SoFi Money is a free checking account from SoFi. They’re currently offering a $25 referral bonus if you open a SoFi account with a referral link and deposit $10. You can also make an additional $250 as well if you complete a direct deposit. This is a good bank that is also 100% free, so you won’t have to worry about managing this account. Here’s a post I wrote with instructions on how to earn your SoFi Money bonus: SoFi Money Referral Bonus: Step By Step Guide.
  • Fifth Third Bank ($225) – This offer is limited to customers in the following states: Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, West Virginia, and South Carolina. If you don’t live in one of those states, you won’t be able to open an account online but you can still open an account in-branch if you happen to be visiting a city that has a branch. This is a fairly easy bank bonus to earn, especially since there are plenty of data points showing what will trigger the direct deposit requirement. In addition, you can open the Fifth Third Momentum Checking bank account, which comes with no monthly fees or minimum balance requirements. Read my guide on this bonus here.
  • Fairwinds Credit Union ($100) – Fairwinds Credit Union is offering a referral bonus for users that sign up using a referral link. Fairwinds has no fees or minimum balance, so this is a particularly easy bonus to earn. Since this is a smaller credit union, my gut instinct tells me this offer won’t be around long, so if you’re in a position to meet the bonus requirements, grab this bonus before it’s gone. Here is my step-by-step guide on how to earn your Fairwinds Credit Union bonus.
  • Netspend ($40 + 5% Interest Savings Account) – Netspend is a company that provides 5% interest savings accounts. If you sign up using my referral link, you’ll get a $40 signup bonus once you make your first deposit into your Netspend account of $40 or more. That means you get a 5% interest savings account and a free $40 to start! Make sure to check out my in-depth guide on how to set up these accounts.
  • Current ($50) – Current is a free fintech bank that’s offering new users a $50 referral bonus after signing up for an account using a referral link.Current is an easy bonus to earn and also gives you access to three savings accounts that pay you 4% interest on up to $2,000. That means you can put away up to $6,000 earning 4% interest. That’s very good and makes Current an account I recommend to everyone. Check out my step-by-step guide on how to earn your Current Bank bonus.
  • Digital Federal Credit Union ($20) – Digital Federal Credit Union (DCU) is a free, nationwide credit union that I recommend to readers for two reasons. First, DCU has a $20 referral bonus if you open a free DCU checking account with a referral link. Second, DCU has a saving account that gives you 6.17% interest on your first $1,000. Check out my in-depth post on how to set this account up.
  • Novo Bank ($40) - Novo bank is a free business checking account that’s currently offering a $40 bonus if you open a Novo business checking account using a referral link. In addition to being a good bank bonus, Novo is also a good business checking account. It has no monthly fees or minimum balance requirements and operates a good app and website. Indeed, it’s the business checking account I currently use for this blog. Check out my post on how to easily open a Novo account.
  • Varo ($35) – Varo is a free fintech banking app similar to Chime or Current. It’s currently offering a $35 bonus to new users that open a new Varo account with a referral link. The bonus for this bank is very easy to meet, all you need to do is spend $20 within 30 days of opening your Varo account. Check out my step-by-step guide to learn how to earn this bonus.

Quick question, I looked in the terms and couldn’t find the answer…. How long does the referred person have to keep their account open?

I’m not sure – terms don’t seem to say. That being said there’s really no reason to close the account since it doesn’t cost anything. If they’re worried about linking an external bank account, have them link an account that they don’t use often so that if something does happen, they don’t have to worry too much.

Thanks for sharing this. I went ahead and starting doing this with my spouse but sending her the referral code. Do I have to do all the address verification with my own account too? Or just create the main account, send her a code, and then set all the details up on her account?

In theory, I don’t think you need to do anything with your own account. But I’m not sure. Terms don’t seem to say what you need to do.

On their site it says I have to be a member 30 days to make a referral yet I had no problem sending someone a referral. Will sending one before 30 days affect the reward.?

Hey, did they just add that term? Or where did you see that because I didn’t notice that restriction before.

Interesting. That wasn’t there when I wrote this post, which means they added it – probably because they’re trying to limit how many people get this bonus.

My guess is you should probably wait 30 days before you refer.

I waited two weeks to get an answer to my question from their customer service department only to learn that I wasn’t eligible for the bonus because I referred someone too soon. I understand that it was my fault for not reading all of the terms before signing up and referring, but the customer service experience was incredibly frustrating. I closed my account.

I dont know if I set this account up right. I kept toggling between signing up and your post. Either I missed it or didn’t read correctly but after setting up my bank I looks like they only accept a deposit of $500 so that’s how much I transferred into the account is this correct? How much should I have deposited? How much did you deposit?

I never deposited anything when I opened this account. All I did was open it to refer people.

When I signed up in oct Nov, they needed $500 in my account plus 30 day before I could make referrals. I did that and made 2 referrals one pit $500 in their account and one did not. Eventually yield Street put $200 in my account, they got nothing.
