If you order food using Uber Eats, you’ll inevitably run into a situation where Uber Eats delivered to the wrong address. It’s frustrating when this happens, but if it does, there are things you can do to make things right.
In this post, we’ll look at how to deal with an Uber Eats order delivered to the wrong address, what you should and shouldn’t do about it, and discuss some tips and tricks to avoid your Uber Eats order getting delivered to the wrong address in the first place.
Reporting When Your Uber Eats Order Is Delivered To The Wrong Address
To start, if your Uber Eats order is delivered to the wrong address, you need to report it to Uber Eats immediately. Reporting your Uber Eats order is easy. To do so, you’ll need to do the following:
- Find your order in your Uber Eats app. To do that, click on “Account” at the bottom of your Uber Eats app, then click the section for “Orders.”
- Next, you’ll select “Help.” This option should be at the top right corner.
- From there, you’ll have a list of options. Select “My Order Never Arrived.” If you have other issues, select the option that corresponds with your issues instead.
- After you’ve selected your issue, you should be able to chat with support to explain your issue.
Once you go through the above steps, Uber Eats should issue you a refund for your order (it’ll likely take a few days for your payment to be refunded though).

Other Things You Can Do If Uber Eats Delivered To The Wrong Address
Depending on how fast you notice that your Uber Eats order was delivered to the wrong address, you may be able to address the issue on your own.
For example, if you notice that your order is missing soon after it said it was delivered, you can quickly contact your Uber Eats driver and let them know that you don’t see your order. Most of the time, it was a mistake and the driver may have left it at the wrong door. I’ve done this before where I’ve left the order at the wrong house by accident (it’s usually that I mixed up the address number). If the customer contacts me immediately, I can quickly grab the order and bring it to the correct address.
What about if your Uber Eats driver isn’t nearby anymore and can’t find your order and deliver it to you? If this is the case, I’d still consider the fact that my order might be at a nearby address. If you received a photo, you might be able to tell which house or door it was left in front of. Most of the time, this is going to be what happened – your driver mixed up the address number or put it at a nearby address. If you know where it was left, you can walk over and pick up your order without having to deal with Uber support.
Unfortunately, if your Uber Eats driver isn’t close enough to grab the order and bring it to the correct address, or if you can’t figure out which house the order was placed in front of, you’ll need to just report the order as missing and get a refund.
How To Avoid Your Uber Eats Order Being Delivered To The Wrong Address
There’s not a lot you can do to avoid your Uber Eats order being delivered to the wrong address. But there are things you can do to make it less likely to happen.
The best thing you can do is make sure your address is clearly marked. For example, if you’re ordering at night, make sure your front door lights are turned on. Having house numbers that are easily visible will help a lot for anyone looking for your place.
If you have a confusing address, I also recommend putting notes in your Uber Eats app with step-by-step directions to your house. You could also send a message to your driver in the Uber Eats app with directions on how to find your house. All of these things will reduce the chances your order gets delivered to the wrong address.

It can be frustrating when your Uber Eats order is delivered to the wrong address. Fortunately, Uber Eats makes it easy to get a refund if this happens. Yes, you might be hungry still. But stuff happens. Take a deep breath and remember that it’s not the end of the world.

They did that to me and won’t give me a refund either I ordered off of insta cart app that uses Uber eats , and they said they can’t do anything because it was Uber eats that delivers for restaurants . So I call them and Uber didn’t care they say I had 8 min to get his of driver until they put it in safe place which I have no clue because how could I ecognize pic of apt . We all have same layout and there’s 50 of them each with buildiing number in front and a,bc,or d on it. Uber was quick to deny me without a care. I sent dispute to cash app and since they do deals with them .I did send them proof of actual pic of my house ,my call logs of calling the driver back , my correct address was pinned on the app . I called him 5 min after he called but his phone wouldn’t pick up it went to voicemail or beeping nioise, and the text message says we don’t know who you are trying to reach if u have a order use the number you used on ur uber eats app in which I don’t use their app I used insta cart. Then I get a pic of the apt they actually took it to, which they erased off my app receipt along with the pic of driver after I complained, And several emails nothing either. Insta cart didn’t care either said they would like to refund me but can’t. Cash app gets a response, they know it was the wrong address u only have 8 minutes not our responsibility. Driver put in safe place you didn’t answer. Horrible first time using delivery service for food, I was so mad because my car is in the shop and my kids were hungry and I didn’t have groceries.
I just was delivered a macdonald’s uber eats bag. I did not order this. They deliverered to wrong address. Someone must be waiting. I feel badly…don’t know who to let know!
My neighbours food is always delivered to my address. I’m sick of it. He’s not approachable.
My food was delivered to the wrong address today. I went to the apartment he dropped it off at and it was gone. I then knocked on the door and no answer. I reported it to Uber and I was told I was not eligible for a refund and that there’s not much they can do but for me to rate his order. So BS. I use this app every week and order from the same place very frequently. My receipt/account shows my delivery address. The delivery man’s photo showed a completely different building and apartment number from my info. So I lose out on my money and food. Completely bull crap. I paid over $130 for my order!
Every time I used Uber eats something was wrong or I just didn’t get it. I finally deleted the app and I just go pick up my food. If you ask me it’s not worth the time or effort trying to fix the problem.
I received a delivery from Uber eats which I never ordered The address is no where near me. The phone number on the order doesn’t work. I wish you had a way to easily report these errors. I have never used Uber eats and now I don’t think I ever will.
Why not just keep the food for yourself?
