Can you create multiple DoorDash accounts? It’s an interesting question. We all know multi-apping is something you have to do if you want to make money doing DoorDash, but most people would think about multi-apping with different delivery apps (i.e. doing Uber Eats and Grubhub too), not running two DoorDash accounts.
The short answer is that it can be possible to create multiple DoorDash accounts, but it’s not recommended. Indeed, it’s a direct violation of the DoorDash terms of service and can lead to deactivation.
If you’re a DoorDash customer, you may also be wondering if you can create multiple DoorDash accounts. This is easier to do and is something you can do without that much risk. We’ll go into more detail about doing this later
With that said, in this post, we’ll look at how some people are able to create multiple DoorDash accounts, why anyone would want to do that, and why I don’t recommend it.
Can You Create Multiple DoorDash Accounts?
In the below section, we’ll look at creating multiple DoorDash accounts, both as a Dasher and as a customer.
Creating Multiple Dasher Accounts
First, let’s look at whether Dashers can create multiple DoorDash accounts. For the most part, it’s difficult to do this because you have to provide a social security number when signing up to deliver for DoorDash. However, there are people online who claim that they’ve been able to create multiple Dasher accounts simply by using a different email and a Google Voice phone number.
How they’ve been able to get around the social security number being tied to an account isn’t clear, but enough people online have claimed that they’ve been able to do this that I think doing so must be possible for some people. My understanding is that DoorDash doesn’t let you use Google Voice phone numbers either, but again, some people have claimed they’ve been able to use one.
So, if you want to create multiple DoorDash accounts, you’ll need to have a different email address, an alternate phone number, and a different phone. You can try using a Google Voice number first to see if it works, but if you really want to have two accounts, your best bet is probably to use a burner phone with a real phone number (since it’s likely that a Google Voice number won’t work).
Creating Multiple DoorDash Customer Accounts
Creating multiple DoorDash customer accounts is far easier compared to creating multiple Dasher accounts. That’s because you don’t have to provide any identifying information to create a DoorDash customer account.
If you want to create a new DoorDash customer account, you’ll need to use a different email address and phone number. Ideally, provide different customer information details too to avoid detection (such as a different first name). If DoorDash sees you have two customer accounts, they may close one of them.
Why Would You Want To Create Multiple DoorDash Accounts?
So why might you want to create multiple DoorDash accounts? As a customer, the main reason would be to get referral bonuses. DoorDash allows you to refer new customers to DoorDash, which then gives you credits you can use for future DoorDash orders. Referring yourself using a new DoorDash customer account is an easy way to earn more DoorDash credits.
As a Dasher, the main reason anyone would want to create multiple Dasher accounts is to utilize “dual-dashing.” Dual dashing is when you have two DoorDash accounts running at the same time and receive orders on both of them. In theory, if you’re dual-dashing, you should be able to receive more orders since DoorDash won’t send any individual account more than one or two orders at a time.
Dual-dashing could potentially increase your earnings, but it’s not easy to do. Not only do you have to create a second Dasher account (which would violate the DoorDash terms), but you’d also have to carry two phones. For that reason, I think dual-dashing isn’t the best idea.
Why You Shouldn’t Create Multiple DoorDash Accounts
For customers, if you want to create multiple DoorDash accounts, I think it’s fine. The worst thing that would happen is you get your account deleted. It’s not too big of a deal.
However, for Dashers, even if it is possible to create multiple DoorDash accounts, I don’t recommend it. From a practical standpoint, dual-dashing is much more work compared to multi-apping. To successfully use two DoorDash accounts, you’d need to carry two phones, both of which would need data. That’s a big hassle, in my opinion.
Multi-apping, meanwhile, is more useful and is logistically easier to do. All you have to do is create an account on each delivery app, then run all of the delivery apps at the same time. You can do all of this with a single phone too.
Beyond the practicalities of creating multiple DoorDash accounts, doing so is also risky because you risk getting deactivated.
Specifically, the DoorDash deactivation policy states the following:
Examples of abuse and fraud include, but are not limited to:
Providing information that is fraudulent or inaccurate – Misrepresenting information during signup, giving false information to the support team during dashes, creating multiple accounts for the same individual, using the same phone number as an account already in use, or failing to accurately identify the mode of transportation being used to perform dashes.
If DoorDash figures out that you’re using multiple accounts, you’re likely to get deactivated. That’s not worth it for the small gain you’re going to get using multiple accounts.
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, it is possible to create multiple DoorDash accounts. However, it won’t work for everyone and even if it does work, I don’t recommend it because you risk deactivation.
Instead, if you want to make the most money Dashing, be strategic with the orders you accept and utilize multi-apping, which is easier to do and doesn’t require you to use multiple phones.
