With March Madness in full swing, you might be asking yourself – is DoorDash busy during March Madness? In short, yes, DoorDash can be busy during March Madness, although I wouldn’t approach it in the same manner as I would a sporting event like the Super Bowl. That’s to say, it’ll probably be as busy as any regular weekend day.
In this post, we’ll look at the question of whether DoorDash is busy during March Madness and discuss some tips and strategies you can use to maximize your DoorDash earnings during March Madness.
Is DoorDash Busy During March Madness?
So, is DoorDash busy during March Madness? The answer is a bit difficult to say. Because March Madness stretches over several weeks in March and has many different games at all hours of the day, it can be busy, but not necessarily busier than a normal day.
That isn’t to say people don’t order food during March Madness. It’s just that, unlike the Super Bowl, which is held on one day at one time, with millions of people watching, March Madness can have some people watching different games at different times, stretching out when people might be placing DoorDash orders.
I generally approach March Madness as if it were any other busy day, not expecting it to be any busier than other days.
That being said, you can expect that there may be an increase in orders during the Final Four and Championship Game when there are fewer games being held and more people will be watching the same game at the same time.
During the earlier rounds though, I wouldn’t go into March Madness expecting it to be abnormally busy compared to other days.
One other thing to consider is location. If you live somewhere where the local team is in the tournament, it’s likely that more people will be watching the game and ordering food during March Madness.
Best Times To DoorDash During March Madness
The best times to DoorDash during March Madness will be similar to the best times to DoorDash on any other day. You’ll want to aim to work during peak hours, specifically during the lunch and dinner hours when most people are placing food delivery orders.
During the early rounds of the tournament, games are held throughout the entire day, so there likely won’t be any particular times of the day that are busier than others. You’ll want to follow the basic strategy when it comes to maximizing your earnings – work during peak hours, multi-app so you can maximize the number of deliveries you receive, and be strategic about the orders you accept.
In the later rounds, particularly during the Final Four and Championship, you can start to time your Dashes to coincide with the games. These games happen in the evening, so you can expect that things should stay busy during the evening dinner rush. However, be aware that March Madness, while popular, doesn’t get to the same level as the Super Bowl, so you should temper your expectations.
For the most part, I wouldn’t specifically go out of my way to Dash specifically because it’s March Madness time, but if you’re going to be working, it’s a fine time to do so.
Final Thoughts
March Madness is a popular sporting event, although it doesn’t reach the same levels as an event like the Super Bowl. As a result, while things may be busy, I wouldn’t work during March Madness expecting it to be way busier than normal. I go into March Madness expecting it to be as busy as any other weekend day.
As with any time you Dash, you’ll want to be strategic about the orders you accept and multi-app so you can maximize the number of deliveries you complete.
