Is DoorDash busy in the morning? In general, I’ve found that DoorDash usually isn’t very busy in the morning. If you want to maximize your efficiency and earn the most money from DoorDash, it’s usually best to wait until the lunch hour, typically after 11 am or so.
In this post, we’ll go into more detail to answer the question, is DoorDash busy in the morning, and discuss when it might make sense to do DoorDash in the morning.Â
Is DoorDash Busy In The Morning?Â
DoorDash doesn’t have set hours of operation. If a restaurant is open and is accepting orders on DoorDash, then customers can order with DoorDash (see my post:Â What Time Does DoorDash Open?).
That being said, not all hours are equal when it comes to making money with DoorDash. Morning hours typically aren’t very busy and in my experience, it’s usually not worth Dashing in the morning. This is because there isn’t much demand for food delivery during the morning hours, which means you’ll end up sitting and waiting for orders (or you’ll be forced to accept bad orders due to the lack of orders coming in).Â
For some people though, the morning might be the only free time you have to work. If you do want to Dash in the morning, your best strategy is to work in busy downtown areas where office workers might be ordering coffee or breakfast.
Weekend mornings can also have decent demand, particularly in neighborhoods with a lot of young people. In those neighborhoods, you can get people waking up early in the morning after a night out and ordering food to their apartments.Â
Best Times To DoorDashÂ
As you can probably expect, the best times to DoorDash center around lunch and dinner hours, when people are most likely to be ordering food.Â
I typically work during lunch hours because it works best with my schedule and I often find it to be busier than working during dinner hours. This might vary in your city – and most likely, it’ll always be busy during any of these prime hours so long as you’re working in the right neighborhoods.Â
In addition to working during prime hours, working on the right days will often make a big difference. Weekends are usually busier than weekdays. That means you can make good money if you work during lunch and dinner hours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The least busy days tend to be earlier in the week, on Monday and Tuesday.Â
Final Thoughts
In sum, DoorDash usually isn’t very busy in the morning in most markets. As a result, it’s usually not worth Dashing during the morning hours. I usually try to do something else during the morning hours so I’m not wasting my time.Â
If you can, try to aim to work during the lunch and dinner hours, when demand for food delivery is highest. You’ll make more money, work more efficiently, and avoid sitting around doing nothing.
