Is Uber Eats busy on Labor Day? For many people, Labor Day marks the end of summer and a return to school and work. If you’re looking to work for Uber Eats during Labor Day, for the most part, things can be busy, particularly in the evening. That’s because many people are returning from trips or taking it easy, which can make the day slow, but the evening fairly busy.

In this post, we’ll take a closer look at the question of whether Uber Eats is busy on Labor Day and consider when is the best time to work during Labor Day.

Is Uber Eats Busy On Labor Day?

Labor Day Weekend is typically a busy travel weekend since it’s a three-day weekend and people take the opportunity to do their last trips of the summer. As a result, Labor Day weekend can be fairly slow since many people will be on vacation.

While the weekend can be slow, Labor Day itself can actually be fairly busy as people return from their trips and look to order food. If you think about how people travel, they’ll come back in the morning or afternoon, then after a long day of travel, might want to order Uber Eats rather than prepare food or go out to a restaurant.

Uber Eats doesn’t disclose their busiest holidays, but DoorDash does provide this information. In 2022, DoorDash listed Labor Day as its sixth busiest holiday. However, it’s important to note that a busy holiday doesn’t actually mean it’s busy, as most holidays tend to be slower for food delivery, so comparing holidays to each other doesn’t actually mean the day is busy overall.

That being said, my advice if you’re planning to work on Labor Day is to aim to work during the dinner rush. Most restaurants are open during Labor Day and during the dinner rush, people are most likely to be ordering food since they’ll be returning from trips and may be too tired to prepare their own food or go out to eat at a restaurant.

Best Times To Deliver For Uber Eats On Labor Day

The best time to deliver for Uber Eats during Labor Day is in the evening, primarily during the dinner rush, This is when most people will be placing orders on Uber Eats and you can expect things should be fairly busy.

The downside is that a lot of other Uber Eats drivers may have the same idea and may also opt to work during the dinner rush. If that happens, even if a lot of customers are placing orders, things can be slow for each individual Uber Eats driver.

During the day, I’d expect things to be slower since more people will be out of town or just returning from their trips. If possible, I’d avoid working during the day or at least wouldn’t plan to make a lot of money during the day.

Final Thoughts

Labor Day can be a good day to deliver for Uber Eats, so long as you are strategic about the hours you work. You want to maximize your time and what you can make, so working during the times when people are most likely to be placing orders is the optimal strategy.

For Labor Day, most people will be ordering Uber Eats in the evening, making the dinner rush a good time to deliver for Uber Eats on Labor Day. For the rest of the weekend, things may be slower than usual since people may be out of town and enjoying that last summer vacation before the end of the summer.
