What Time Does Grubhub Open?

What time does Grubhub open? Here’s the answer. Grubhub operates 24/7 and doesn’t have set operating hours. The only limitations are whether restaurants are open and whether Grubhub Drivers are available to deliver your order. If there are restaurants open and Grubhub drivers available to deliver your order to you, then you can order from Grubhub anytime.

Let’s take a more detailed look at what time Grubhub opens and what to think about if you’re ordering from Grubhub in the morning.

Grubhub does not have set operating hours. Instead, whether you can order on Grubhub depends on whether there are restaurants open. If a restaurant is open and operating on Grubhub, then you can, in theory, order from Grubhub anytime and have food delivered directly to your house.

To see whether a restaurant is open, go to the Grubhub app and look at the restaurant you want to order from. The app will show you the operating hours of the restaurant. As you can probably guess, most of the restaurants that are open in the morning are breakfast places or coffee shops.

One thing I’ve noticed is that some restaurants limit their operating hours on Grubhub. In other words, even though a restaurant may be open, it might not open on Grubhub until later. You can see what time a restaurant opens on Grubhub by opening the app and checking a restaurant. It’ll tell you if the restaurant is open – or if the restaurant is closed, what time the restaurant opens.

For example, there is a restaurant near me that opens at 8 am but doesn’t open until 10 am on the Grubhub app. That means I could order food directly from the restaurant. But if I want to order through Grubhub, I’d have to wait until 10 am for the restaurant to be open and accept delivery orders.

Issues With Ordering Grubhub In The Morning

Beyond whether restaurants are open in the morning on Grubhub, the other factor to consider if you’re ordering from Grubhub early in the morning is whether there are delivery people available to deliver your order.

Grubhub uses independent contractors to deliver orders, which means there aren’t a set number of people working at any time. Instead, delivery drivers can work whenever they want.

Most Grubhub drivers opt to deliver during lunch and dinner hours when more customers are ordering food through the Grubhub app. As a result, fewer Grubhub drivers will choose to work during the early morning hours. That means even if a restaurant is open early in the Grubhub app, it’s possible you might have trouble finding a Grubhub driver to deliver your order.

That being said, if you live in a city, you probably won’t have an issue finding someone to deliver your order. This is really more of a problem if you live in a suburb or rural area.

Is It Worth Delivering In The Morning?

If you’re a Grubhub driver, you might be wondering whether it’s worth delivering in the morning. In my experience, delivering in the morning usually isn’t worth it. This is because there usually isn’t enough demand in the morning, so you’ll end up sitting around most of the time and you won’t make much money.

If you do want to deliver in the morning, your best bet is usually to go to downtown areas where workers might be ordering coffee or breakfast. Weekend mornings can also be decent in neighborhoods with a lot of young people.

In general, though, I don’t recommend delivering for Grubhub in the morning. It’s usually better to wait until at least 11 am so you can work during the lunch rush. Instead, I recommend you find something else you can do in the morning.

Final Thoughts

Grubhub doesn’t have set operating hours. Instead, whether Grubhub is “open” depends entirely on whether there are restaurants open on the Grubhub app. If a restaurant is open in the app, then you can order food and have it delivered to your house.

Remember, that some restaurants don’t have the same operating hours on Grubhub as they do in real life. So, even if you know a restaurant is open, it may be closed on the Grubhub app.
