Is Grubhub busy on Christmas? As you can probably expect, Grubhub is not busy on Christmas. Most people aren’t ordering food on Christmas Day. Even if people were ordering food, the vast majority of restaurants are going to be open.

In this post, we’ll take a closer look at the question of whether Grubhub is busy on Christmas. We’ll also discuss some of the best times to work for Grubhub on Christmas if that’s a day you’re planning to work.

As mentioned at the beginning of this post, you should expect that Grubhub will be fairly slow on Christmas Day. In fact, of the major US holidays, Christmas is probably one of the slowest – if not the slowest – days of the year for Grubhub (it’s likely either Thanksgiving or Christmas as the slowest days of the year for Grubhub).

It’s easy to see why Grubhub would be slow on Christmas. The vast majority of people aren’t ordering food on Christmas Day because they’re cooking at home and spending time with family.

Even for people that don’t celebrate Christmas, Grubhub will be slow because most restaurants are closed for the holiday. While Grubhub doesn’t have set opening or closing times, it can only offer delivery from restaurants that are open. Since most restaurants aren’t open, there are not a lot of places where people can order food from.

The Best Time To Do Grubhub On Christmas Day

If you are planning to work on Grubhub on Christmas Day, you’ll need to be strategic about when you work. Going in without a plan will lead to low earnings and be a waste of your time.

At the outset, I would not recommend working in the morning or in the middle of the day. Most restaurants simply aren’t going to be open during those hours and even if they were open, there wouldn’t be much business.

The best time to work on Christmas is in the evening when some restaurants may be open and people are most likely to be placing orders. In particular, Chinese restaurants are the most likely restaurants to be open on Christmas Day. Indeed, many Chinese restaurants can get pretty busy in the evening on Christmas.

If you want to make money on Christmas, I recommend staying in areas near Chinese restaurants. You’ll receive the most orders and give yourself the best shot of making some money.

Final Thoughts

Christmas Day generally isn’t going to be a busy day for Grubhub. For most people, I recommend taking a break on Christmas Day and instead spending the day with your family or friends. It simply isn’t going to be very busy on Grubhub and your time may be better suited with your family or just relaxing.

That doesn’t mean there’s no money to be made on Christmas. If you are planning to work on Christmas, I recommend doing so in the evening when more restaurants will be open and you have the best chance of staying busy. The best strategy will be to stay near Chinese restaurants, as those are most likely to get orders on Christmas Day. If you follow these tips, you’ll hopefully be able to maximize your time and make the most money possible.
