Is Uber Eats busy on Christmas Eve? It’s a question you might be asking yourself if you’re hoping to work during the holidays. The short answer is that Uber Eats usually isn’t very busy on Christmas Eve. That doesn’t mean there isn’t any business, and depending on what time of day you work, it can be a fairly normal day. But in my experience, you shouldn’t go into Christmas Eve expecting to make a lot of money.
In this post, we’ll take a deeper dive into the question of whether Uber Eats is busy on Christmas Eve and look at what you can do the make the most money that day.
Is Uber Eats Busy On Christmas Eve?
Unlike Thanksgiving or Christmas Day, Christmas Eve isn’t a full-fledged holiday. That means, in contrast to other major holidays where everything is closed, Christmas Eve can be a bit busier, with people ordering food like a normal day.
That being said, you can expect that Christmas Eve will probably be slower than a regular day. Few people are working on Christmas Eve, so the lunch rush won’t be as busy. And while some people may order Uber Eats for dinner, most people will be eating at home with family and many restaurants close early on Christmas Eve as well. If you live in a college town or are working near a college campus, you can expect that few students will be around, since most will have gone home for the holidays.
So in sum, you shouldn’t expect things to be very busy on Christmas Eve. It likely won’t be completely dead, but there likely won’t be much going on either.
Best Times To Do Uber Eats On Christmas Eve
In my experience, the best time to work on Uber Eats on Christmas Eve is during the lunch hour. There are two reasons why the lunch hour will probably be your best bet to make the most money.
First, most people are spending time with their family on Christmas Eve, so they may not be ordering food for dinner. However, at lunch, people may still be working or doing other things, so there’s a higher chance that people will order Uber Eats during the lunch rush.
Second, many restaurants close early on Christmas Eve, which means there are fewer restaurants people can order from. If restaurants are closed, you won’t get many delivery requests.
For these reasons, if you want to work on Uber Eats during Christmas Eve, it’s best to work over the lunch hour.
Final Thoughts
Christmas Eve is generally a slow day for Uber Eats. It’s not completely dead the way Thanksgiving or Christmas Day is, but it’ll still be one of the slower days of the year for food delivery.
If you want to make some money on Christmas Eve, your best bet is to work earlier in the day, ideally during the lunch hour when you’ll have the best chance of getting delivery requests.
