Is Uber Eats busy on Thanksgiving? As you can probably guess, Uber Eats typically isn’t busy on Thanksgiving. Indeed, of all the major holidays, Thanksgiving may very well be the slowest day of the year for Uber Eats (it’s either Thanksgiving or Christmas as the slowest days of the year).

In this post, we’ll take a look at the question of whether Uber Eats is busy on Thanksgiving and whether working on Thanksgiving makes any sense.

Is Uber Eats Busy On Thanksgiving?

The short answer is that Uber Eats is not generally busy on Thanksgiving. If anything, it’s probably one of the slowest days of the year for food delivery. There are two main reasons why Uber Eats typically isn’t busy on Thanksgiving.

The first reason is that most people aren’t ordering Uber Eats on Thanksgiving. Instead, they’re eating home-cooked meals with their family and friends. That makes the demand for food delivery low on the customer side – people aren’t ordering food since they’re eating at home.

The second reason is that most restaurants are closed on Thanksgiving. Even if people wanted to order food, the vast majority of restaurants are not going to be open on Thanksgiving Day. Uber Eats is only as good as the restaurants that are available to order from, so if a lot of restaurants are closed, you can also expect that Uber Eats won’t be very busy.

Is Uber Eats Busy On The Day Before Thanksgiving?

While Uber Eats isn’t busy on Thanksgiving, the day before Thanksgiving can be busy. If you want to make money during the Thanksgiving holidays, your best bet will be to try to work on the day before Thanksgiving or Black Friday (i.e. the day after Thanksgiving).

You can see why the day before Thanksgiving can be busy if you think about how people order food. If you’re going to be preparing a lot of food on Thanksgiving, it makes a lot of sense to order Uber Eats the night before and save yourself the time you’d spend cooking. In addition, the day before Thanksgiving is also a time when a lot of people are gathering at home, which means people may order food to feed a large group of people. This can make things very busy on Uber Eats.

It’s important to note that whether it’ll be busy on the day before Thanksgiving heavily depends on where you live. If you live in a big city or a city with families, you can expect the day before Thanksgiving to be decently busy. But if you live in a college town, the day before Thanksgiving is going to be slow since most of the college students will have left for the holiday.

I used to live in a college neighborhood in a big city, so things would always be slow in my neighborhood. But if I went to other parts of the city, it would get busier.

Best Times To Do Uber Eats On Thanksgiving

Unfortunately, there aren’t really any good times to do Uber Eats on Thanksgiving. Most restaurants aren’t open, so even if people wanted to order Uber Eats, there wouldn’t be any restaurants available to order from.

If you’re set on doing Uber Eats during Thanksgiving, you’ll probably want to aim to work earlier in the day, when some restaurants may be open. Otherwise, late in the night could also offer some opportunity, as some restaurants might open late for Black Friday sales.

But in my opinion, Uber Eats isn’t worth doing on Thanksgiving. I think it’s better to enjoy the holiday and spend it with your family and friends instead.

Final Thoughts

Thanksgiving is one of the slowest days of the year for Uber Eats. While the Uber Eats app is open and available for customers, there aren’t many restaurants open and few customers are ordering because they’re spending time with family.

So my advice is to not waste your time with Uber Eats on Thanksgiving. Instead, enjoy the holiday and try to work on busier days instead.
