How many times can you cash out on DoorDash? The answer is fairly simple – DoorDash lets you cash out your earnings once per day.
There are a few catches though. First, you have to meet a few requirements before you can cash out using DoorDash Fast Pay.
Second, DoorDash charges a small fee to cash out your earnings (there’s no fee if you wait for the normal weekly payout).
And finally, there is a mini-hack that allows you to “sort of” cash out your earnings twice per day.
In this post, we’ll take a closer look at how many times you can cash out on DoorDash.
How Many Times Can You Cash Out On DoorDash
DoorDash makes clear that you can cash out using Fast Pay up to once per day. Here is what DoorDash says in their FAQ:
Q: Can I cash out whenever I want?
A: Yes, you can cash out at any time, up to once per day. Do note that any earnings in your balance that you don’t cash out by midnight on Sunday will be deposited in your bank account (with a 2-3 day processing period) as a weekly direct deposit.
To be eligible to use Fast Pay and cash out your earnings immediately, you first have to add your debit card information to the Dasher app. This is because Fast Pay sends the money to your debit card, rather than to your bank account. This is what makes it possible to get your earnings quickly.
In addition to linking a debit card, you also have to meet the following requirements:
- You’ve completed at least 25 lifetime deliveries
- You’ve been on the DoorDash platform for at least two weeks (14 days) since activation
- You set up Fast Pay and added your debit card at least 7 days ago, so the 7-day processing period is no longer in effect
- You haven’t updated your debit card information within the past 7 days (including re-entering your debit card information)
The reason DoorDash has these requirements is to limit new Dashers from using Fast Pay and to prevent fraud.
In particular, the waiting period after adding your debit card information is to prevent fraud. In the past, scammers and thieves would trick Dashers into giving them their login information (usually by pretending to be a DoorDash employee), then log in to their account, change the debit card information, and then quickly cash out the earnings to their debit card. The 7-day waiting period helps prevent this scam from happening. If someone does get access to your Dasher account, the waiting period should allow you to cancel the Fast Pay request before your earnings are stolen.
How You Can “Sort Of” Cash Out Twice In One Day
While you can only cash out your earnings with Fast Pay once per day, it is “sort of” possible to cash out twice if you need to. Specifically, the clock for cashing out resets at midnight of each day. In theory, you can Dash all day, then cash out your earnings before midnight, then work again during the late-night hours and cash out immediately.
For example, if you earned $100 in one day, you could cash those earnings out before midnight. If you continued working after midnight and made $50 during the late-night hours, you could cash those earnings out, effectively letting you cash out twice within a few hours.
If you are in a pinch and are working late-night hours, this could be something you can do.
Final Thoughts
In general, I avoid using Fast Pay or cashing out my earnings early because I don’t like paying the fee (DoorDash charges Dashers $1.99 each time they use the cash-out feature).
The way I see it, I work too hard for my money to give some of it away. Remember you earned that money. Plus, getting paid once per week is enough for me.
That being said, if you’re in a pinch, you can cash out your earnings once per day. If you use a bank like Lili or SoFi Money, you should get your money on the same day.
