What time does Uber Eats open? You might be asking yourself this question if you’re craving some food early in the morning and want to get it delivered. The short of it is that Uber Eats operates 24/7 and doesn’t have set operating hours. The only limitations are whether restaurants are open and whether there are Uber Eats drivers available to deliver your order. If there are restaurants open and Uber Eats drivers available to deliver your order to you, then you can order Uber Eats anytime.

Let’s take a more detailed look at what time Uber Eats opens and what to think about if you’re ordering Uber Eats in the morning.

What Time Does Uber Eats Open?

Uber Eats doesn’t have set operating hours. Instead, whether you can order Uber Eats depends on whether there are restaurants open. If a restaurant is open and operating on Uber Eats, then you can in theory order Uber Eats anytime.

If you go to any restaurant in the Uber Eats app, it’ll show you their operating hours. As you can imagine, most of the restaurants that are open in the morning are breakfast places or coffee shops.

One thing I’ve noticed is that some restaurants limit their operating hours on Uber Eats. In other words, even though a restaurant may be open for in-person pickup or dining, it might not open on Uber Eats until later.

You can see what time a restaurant opens on Uber Eats by opening the app and checking a restaurant. It’ll tell you if the restaurant is open – or if the restaurant is closed, what time the restaurant opens and when they start accepting orders.

For example, there is a restaurant near me that opens at 8 am but doesn’t open until 10 am on the Uber Eats app. That means I could order food directly from the restaurant. But if I want to order through Uber Eats, I’d have to wait until 10 am for the restaurant to be available on Uber Eats.

Issues With Ordering Uber Eats In The Morning

Beyond whether restaurants are open in the morning on Uber Eats, the other factor to consider if you’re ordering Uber Eats early in the morning is whether there are delivery people available to deliver your order.

Uber Eats uses independent contractors to deliver orders, which means there aren’t a set number of people working at any time. Instead, delivery drivers work whenever they want, on their own schedule.

Most Uber Eats drivers opt to deliver during lunch and dinner hours when more customers are ordering food through the app. By contrast, in the morning, fewer drivers are working. Even if a restaurant is open in the Uber Eats app, you might have trouble finding a Uber Eats driver to deliver your order.

That being said, if you live in a city, you probably won’t have an issue finding someone to deliver your order. It’s really more of a problem if you live in a suburb or rural area.

Is It Worth Delivering In The Morning?

If you’re a Uber Eats driver, you might be wondering whether it’s worth delivering in the morning. In my experience, delivering in the morning usually isn’t worth it. This is because there usually isn’t enough demand in the morning, so you’ll end up sitting around doing nothing most of the time.

If you do want to deliver in the morning, your best bet is to go to downtown areas where workers might be ordering coffee or breakfast for the office. Weekend mornings can also be decent in neighborhoods with a lot of young people.

In general, though, I don’t recommend delivering in the morning. It’s usually better to wait until at least 11 am so you can work during the lunch rush.

Final Thoughts

Uber Eats doesn’t have set operating hours. Instead, whether Uber Eats is “open” depends entirely on whether there are restaurants open on the Uber Eats app. If a restaurant is open in the app, then you can order food and have it delivered to your house.

Remember, that some restaurants don’t have the same operating hours on Uber Eats as they do in real life. So, even if you know a restaurant is open, it may be closed on the Uber Eats app.
