The most common reason a DoorDash order disappears is because of a glitch in the Dasher app. Anyone who uses the Dasher app long enough will run into weird glitches like this (for example, glitches like where you get a “burst limited exceeded” error or where the app tells you that “Dasher must be active to schedule Dashes.”
Most of the time, this is why the Doordash order disappeared. It’s a simple glitch in the app that is easily fixed by force quitting the app and restarting it.
2. The DoorDash App Crashed
Another common reason why your DoorDash order may have disappeared is that the DoorDash app has crashed. This is a fairly common occurrence with DoorDash – there’s no doubt that of the big three delivery apps (DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub), DoorDash crashes the most often. Most of the time when the DoorDash app crashes, you’ll be in a position where you simply don’t get orders or can’t complete the order after you’ve picked it up, but occasionally, you’ll get a situation like this, where the order simply disappears.

3. The Customer Cancelled The Order
The final reason why your DoorDash order disappeared may be because the customer canceled the order. In theory, a customer can cancel their order at any time, both before and after you’ve picked up the order.

There is no need to contact support in this situation.
Most of the time, you’ll get a notification that the customer canceled their order, but occasionally, you don’t receive any notification. This can be extremely frustrating if you already arrived at the restaurant. You’re supposed to get half-pay for the order if it’s canceled, but sometimes that doesn’t happen for whatever reason.
What To Do If Your DoorDash Order Disappeared
If your DoorDash order disappeared, there are a few steps you should take.
First, try force quitting and restarting the Dasher app. If it’s just a minor glitch, this will fix the issue and you’ll be able to see the order. If it’s more than a simple glitch, then this, unfortunately, won’t solve the issue.
The next thing to do is to log out of the Dasher app and log back in. Sometimes this can fix the issue.
If neither of those two things works, it’s likely more than a simple glitch and it’s possible that the DoorDash app crashed or the customer canceled their order. If you want to be cautious, you can start a chat with DoorDash customer support, but usually, that isn’t necessary.
One thing I do recommend is if you already have possession of the food, I would contact customer support. Just in case there is something weird going on, you don’t want to be accused of stealing the food and risk a contract violation or deactivation.
If you’ve already picked up the food and the customer canceled the order, then you get a nice bonus – DoorDash will tell you to dispose of the food, which means you get to keep it. I’m always happy when I’m able to get free food like this.
It can be frustrating when a DoorDash order you accepted disappears. Most of the time, it’s a small glitch that is easily fixed by restarting the Dasher app. Sometimes, it’s a larger issue that you can’t do anything about (like when the app crashes). And sometimes, it’s because the customer canceled the order after they placed it.
Whatever the reason, don’t stress out too much if a DoorDash order disappears. It’s usually not too big a deal.
