Is DoorDash busy on Halloween? In general, DoorDash can be pretty busy on Halloween. Indeed, DoorDash ranks it as their third busiest holiday of the year. That being said, I don’t consider Halloween to be much different from other days. For the most part, for DoorDash purposes, I consider Halloween to be no different than any other normal day.
In this post, we’ll take a deeper dive into the question of “is DoorDash busy on Halloween” and discuss why, in general, you should treat it like any other regular day.
Is DoorDash Busy On Halloween?
In my experience, Halloween can typically be treated like any regular day. Whether it’ll be busy on DoorDash really depends on what day of the week Halloween falls on and whether you are thinking about the actual Halloween day or Halloween weekend when most young people are going to parties.
If Halloween falls on a weekday, I consider it to be as busy as any other normal weekday. A few more people might opt to order food to save time, especially if they’re going trick-or-treating with their kids, but not so many more that you’ll notice a huge difference. For sure, you’ll still need to be strategic about when you Dash. It’s not going to be so busy that you can simply turn on the app at any time and expect to get non-stop orders.
For Halloween weekend, you can expect it to be a little bit busier, but again, I don’t think of it as much busier than any other normal weekend. You’ll probably stay a bit busier during the weekend.
I think Halloween is probably more important for rideshare drivers, who can expect to get more ride requests during Halloween when people go out to party. But if you think about it for food, most people aren’t doing much different than what they’d do on a normal busy evening. And during the lunch hour, there won’t be any difference.
The way I see it, think about how you treat Halloween. I’m usually out with my kids, but I don’t think of Halloween as a special day where I need to order food. I suspect most people think the same way.
Best Times To Do DoorDash On Halloween
The best times to do DoorDash on Halloween will be similar to the best times to do DoorDash on any other day. You’ll want to aim to work during the lunch and dinner rushes when most people are ordering food.
On Halloween day, I normally work during the lunch rush. In the evening, I sometimes opt to do deliveries too during the dinner rush, but I don’t go out of my way to do deliveries then. However, dinner will likely be the busiest time to do deliveries during Halloween, so if you can only work certain hours, aim to work during dinner.
For the weekend, you’ll find yourself busiest during the dinner rush. However, most of the weekend will probably be as busy as any other weekend day, so you can probably stay busy throughout the day. Still, try to stick to the lunch and dinner rush if you want to make the most money.
Final Thoughts
Halloween is a holiday that can be busy, but I don’t think it’s as busy as some make it out to be. It’s likely more important for rideshare drivers that do Uber or Lyft, especially during the weekend when people are going out to parties.
For DoorDash drivers, I would recommend treating Halloween like any other regular day. If you want to make money, work during the prime hours when you’ll get the most deliveries. Dinner is especially important during Halloween.
But don’t worry about Halloween too much. In my experience, it’s not that important for Dashers, even if it’s considered a busy holiday for DoorDash.
